The Fendt 309 LSA belongs to the Farmer 300 series. It was manufactured from 1981 to 1998. The Fendt 309 LSA was the successor to the 309 LS. The Fendt 309 LSA is powered by a four-cylinder inline engine with turbocharger. The water-cooled four-stroke engine can reach 70 kW (95HP) with a rated speed of 2350 U/min. As already described, the Fendt 309 was the first model to make use of the EHS gear system. It has 21 forward and 21 reverse gears as well as 3 overdrive gears. The PTO gears operate at speeds of from 1.3 to 4.9 km/h. Optionally, the Fendt 309 LSA can also be equipped with a super-crawler transmission with 9/3 super-crawler gears in a 21/6 speed transmission. The forward speed is up to 40 km/h, backwards is up to 35 km/h. The Fendt 309 LSA has an electro-hydraulic-activated PTO with soft start, which can also be operated by a remote control on the rear wing. The PTO is triple switchable with speeds of 540, 750 and 1.000 U/min. Optionally, the Fendt 309 LSA can be equipped with a front PTO. It rotates at 1.000 U/min at an engine speed of 2.033 U/min. The hydraulic system in the Fendt 309 LSA is an electro-controlled hydraulic system with lower link draft sensing. In response to demand, the Category II three-point linkage was also made available equipped with a quick coupler. The Fendt 309 also offers the option of a category II integrated front linkage with folding lower links and a maximum lift capacity of 2,945 kg.
